Geodetic Engineers with their instruments :)

As a Geodetic Engineering student we are required to learn how to set up different kinds of instruments used in our field. So we would like to share a bit of what we've learned...

Geodetic Engineers are commonly known in Land Surveying, the instruments shown here are examples of what we're using when conducting surveys.

Here are some of the instruments involved in this presentation:

Leveling Rod
Automatic Level
Surveying Tripod

In this video we will show you the steps of setting up an automatic level together with the tripod.

Let’s go explore!

I wanna travel around the world…

After I graduate and become a registered Geodetic Engineer,
I'm expecting to travel around the world. I'd like to explore and see how people live in other countries. Yes! It’s a bit impossible to travel around the world, but there were some people who already did this… if they can do it, why can’t I?

For me to be in other places means enjoying and appreciating the things God have made, it's like putting yourself into something that will make you happy.

To be in other places is to meet different kinds of people. I believe human can improve and widen their knowledge through reading and traveling. For me, traveling can bring people into colorful world where you can experience different culture and customs and make life more fun. And it’s not just fun because I know we could learn something from them (people out there).

Worry no more, just expect more!

"Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced."
~ Soren Kierkegaard

Some people says “
Do not expect things to happen because it’s better to feel surprised than to feel disappointed.” but for me expecting about something is like dreaming about it. Having expectations in life means having dreams, you’ll be forced to do something in order to fulfill your dreams. It may also serve as your motivations.

I am pretty sure that everyone wants to be successful; especially when they meet productive people and witness how they manage their time, use their resources and talents, and how they socialize with the people around them. Looking at these people adds to your eagerness on achieving something in your life.

Even me, I’m aiming to be one of these successful individuals. I’m expecting to graduate or finish my studies, become a professional Geodetic Engineer in the future. But for now as a student, the very first expectation I have is to be a degree holder, specifically to be a licensed Geodetic Engineer. And for me to reach this, I have to excel in class and if not, at least to pass all the subjects I have. I know that the life of a student is not easy but if we expect that we’ll be able to pass through the trials of it, maybe someday we'll meet all those expectations.

But of course, it’s not that easy for me to do that. Sometimes because of this inevitable presence of uncertainties, many things don’t happen as what I have expected. This often gives me pressure considering the fact that I am a DOST scholar. But because giving up is not on my vocabulary (Indeed!), I would just pause for a minute and tell myself, “Just trash all your worries and always trust God.”

I’m just being optimistic, I’m always looking at the positive side of life. And hard work has always been my companion in doing things…

Thank you for reading, I hope you’ve learn something from this short blog of mine.
